Successful Sale – M/Y Aroha
Dawson & Associates is pleased to have assisted with another successful superyacht transaction, with the sale of the M/Y Aroha.
The transaction was a complicated one with a vigorous negotiating process, highlighting the importance of having both experienced legal practitioners and reliable on the ground brokerage support. Ultimately the Dawson & Associates team guided the parties to work pragmatically together, and the transaction was closed seamlessly in international waters off the coast of Spain.
Dawson & Associates is grateful to all the parties for their pragmatism and professionalism throughout the matter, in particular to the seller’s brokers Cecil Wright & Partners Limited.
Selling a vessel, particularly one in class, is an incredibly complicated process; one which can often strike parties unaware. Needless to say, it is much more complicated than buying or selling a house! Having advisors who understand vessels, the interplay between classification societies, condition surveys, sea trials, and closing mechanisms, among other things, is critical to having a process that runs as smoothly as possible.
Dawson & Associates are maritime legal experts who regularly assist in the sale and purchase of vessels ranging from superyachts to large workboats, and everything in between.
